Goodbye Faithful Kingdom! presents...
Her Name is Calla album launch!
HER NAME IS CALLA
http://www.myspace.com/hernameiscalla
Her Name Is Calla have been relentlessly touring the country with iLiKETRAiNS and The Twilight Sad and have been gaining scores of fans with their evocative, part ethereal, part ear shredding music. The excellent new mini-album ‘The Heritage’ is Her Name Is Calla’s second release for Gizeh records and features various members of The Monroe Transfer on track ‘New England’. With both bands on the bill you may well be in for an explosive rare live treat!
\"…their sound builds and builds until it reaches an intensity which is almost too much to bear... and manage to pack in more raw emotion than many bands manage in a lifetime.\" - God Is In The TV
“why can\'t all artists be as ambitiously prophetic as this?” – Drowned In Sound
“mesmerising and haunting” – Tasty Fanzine
THE MONROE TRANSFER
http://www.myspace.com/electricoldwirenoise
The Monroe Transfer are a UK-based, entirely independent 7-piece group, making densely orchestrated, melancholic, uplifting instrumental music on a variety of instruments. They have two forthcoming releases including a unique CD & DVD double-pack of ‘I Dreamt I Was A Hammer And Everything Was Glass’, featuring animated film by Gemma Burditt to be released on Organ Grinder Records and a 10\" split vinyl with Dear Euphoria on Stereo Test Kit Records.
\"At their most beautiful they’re able to lightly brush the places that so few other instrumental acts can...it’s exciting when a band that features not a single singer is able to take you away to someplace other than the here and now on fabulous waves of orchestral sound. The Monroe Transfer, at their most beautiful, are that band.\" - Drowned in Sound
