SANDWICH: St. Mary's Church

FRI 16TH OCT, 2015 7:30pm

Bringing Alive Sandwich Heritage presents:

Robbers, Rebels and Royals - an evening with Joglaresa and Nick Hennessey.

With harp, fidel, percussion, bagpipes and voices, early music stars Joglaresa perform songs that challenge the supreme authority of kings, criticise the Roman Curia, and highlight the lives, loves, imprisonment and taxation of ordinary folk at the time of Magna Carta. They will be joined by harp-playing, folk-singing storyteller extraordinaire Nick Hennessey for a lively programme featuring tales of Robin Hood, King John, outlaws, rebels, social justice and injustice - all interwoven with Joglaresa's electrifying song.
Licensed bar.

Doors open 7.30pm for 8pm start.

Advance tickets (by midnight 15th October) 8. Remaining tickets 10 on the door.
NB: Half of all ticket sales will go to the Mercury-backed fundraising campaign to bring the Sandwich Charters home!

(Please note that this is an evening event aimed at adults and may not be suitable for young children.)

Organised by BASH: supported by Magna Carta 800.
