Easy Star All Stars are a collective of talented, highly celebrated reggae artists who produced and released innovative dubbed out masterpieces through their label Easy Star Records. From the group’s inception in 1996 they have been reviving reggae culture and nurturing a global music scene from their base in New York.
The Easy Star All Stars are the rightful kings of modern reggae, creating classics “whether recording new music that captures the soul and artistry of vintage reggae, releasing new masterpieces by legendary artists, or digging into the vaults to find hidden treasures, Easy Star's commitment to quality guarantees a great record every time”.
Perhaps best known for their ground breaking versions of classic popular albums, the group have released two cover projects to date. The monumentally inspired ‘Dub Side of the Moon’ (2003) and 2006’s equally ambitious ‘Radiodread’. Both offer dub style, reggae infused, and song – by – song covers of their respective originals: the seminal ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ (Pink Floyd) and ‘OK Computer’ (Radiohead).
The Easy Star’s, like their great predecessors in the reggae tradition, are at their most brilliant when on stage rocking a crowd and their fusion of the vintage with the dynamic modern riddims of dancehall is a live experience not to be missed.
