PRESTON: The Mad Ferret

WED 14TH OCT, 2015 8:00pm

Do you ever wish you lived in Glasgow? Loads of stuff going on, drinks still cheap, occasional sightings of members of Belle and Sebastian? Tonight two of Glasgow's best new bands come to Preston, come down to The Ferret to check them out.

Spinning Coin

Huge buzz about this band, comparisons to various Flying Nun acts abound, their debut cassette (natch) release is shortly to be followed up by a 7" single on The Pastels' Geographic label. The last young Glasgow band on Geographic were The Royal We, who went on to become Veronica Falls, so do not doubt their talent-spotting potential. Slacker, lo-fi, sometimes circumspect, occasionally rockin'.

Breakfast Muff

Thrashy pop-punk, veering from Lovely Eggs hilarity to gothic Shop Assistants. Don't get too excited though, remember when the singer says she's allowed to fuck an older guy she isn't talking about you.
