Born in Derry Carl grew up in Omagh where he took up clarinet/ saxophone instruction with his tutor and mentor the late James O'Neill. He has played at the Proms; Queen Elizabeth Hall; Blue Note Jazz Club (NY) and Buckingham Palace at Royal invitation. Carl has also toured the Caribbean & UK with his jazz septet/quartet and has been soloist with the Philharmonia and the London Concert Orchestra. Carl's wife Valeria studied organ at Shostakovich School in Moscow, read music at King's College London and graduated from LCM2 in London where she specialised in contemporary piano performance. Joining Carl for the first time will be Aiden Dunphy (drums) and Michael McGinty (bass) in a concert which hosts a kaleidoscope of classical and jazz pieces spanning everything from Bach to Verdi and from Oscar Peterson to Freddie Hubbard all featured back-to-back! There'll also be a chance to hear world premieres of Carl's compositions.
