Event information

Joe Gideon & The Shark
http://www.myspace.com/joegideonandtheshark

They are taking time out from recording their debut album that's due for release on Bronzerat (home to Seasick Steve).

Here's what Timeout said about them last month:

"Joe Gideon & The Shark are Joe Gideon and his little sister Viva (aka The Shark), a tall, smartly tailored, intensely charismatic pair who turn in one of the best live shows we’ve seen all year. He sings and plays guitar, cranking out raw, bluesy riffs over which he delivers wry monologues to rival Jonathan Richman’s ‘Pablo Picasso’. She plays drums, piano and eight-track – sometimes all at the same time, occasionally with little accompanying whoops of glee, and always with impeccable style and almost balletic grace."

The Arcadian Kicks
http://www.myspace.com/thearcadiankicks

The Arcadian Kicks are two girls & three boys all eighteen years old. They combine soaring melodic beauty with hard-edged sax, soulful guitar soundscapes and pounding tribal rhythms contained by a wall of sub bass. They are managed by Jon Brookes from The Charlatans, they stormed this years The Isle of White festival & have recently played alongside Feeder, New Young Pony Club & The Music.

The Cedars
http://www.myspace.com/theonlycedars

The Cedars have long been a favorite at Hooked on Music. They combine bourbon soaked bluegrass with technically brilliant musicianship & mix it all together with their unique, powerful, slightly unhinged lead vocalist Chantelle.

The Phantom Lovers
http://www.myspace.com/thephantomloversuk

Formed in Montreal, but now residing in London, The Phantom Lovers create weird and brooding soundscapes that have recently drawn comparisons to PJ Harvey, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds & Velvet Underground. Expect a dark and intense aural treat.

Tickets are available in advanced from www.wegottickets.com & doors open at 7.30pm
