ADAM DONEN AND THE DROUGHT 2007 should have been a good year for Adam Donen. His band, Alexandria Quartet, were hotly tipped by the bloggers and highly praised by the indie press. His poetry was beginning to get published fairly regularly. But in October, there was a breakdown. He started writing new songs in a trance-like state. They weren't Alexandria Quartet songs. They were bigger, sadder, often almost orchestral. In his more lucid and melodramatic moments, he described them as being his epitaph. He met violinist Rayna Ferner on a train. He met cellist Jo Silverston and Moss Beynon Juckes one evening in a deconsecrated church.
Old friends Tom Dewey and Katy Fenwick took piano, organ, keyboard and bass duties. Superproducer Robert Harder kindly agreed to engineer. Adam produced.
Unearthed but one year ago in the syringe strewn alleys of Manhattan's Chinatown, THE HUNT, are a murder of post apocalyptic degenerate gentlemen. Inspired by their own reverberative gin soaked compositions, their sole aim in existence is to spread their seed, sound, and superiority to the unwashed masses.
