Philip Horton (from The Bath Chronicle) wrote about Vocal Works Gospel Choir: “I’ve never seen so many people sing with such permanently happy enthusiasm. Apart from being exceptionally joyful, there seemed to be no end to the number of soloists who stepped into the limelight throughout the evening. Little wonder they produced such great music with that much talent to rely on. Cheered back for two encores, which the equally enthusiastic audience would have preferred to be even more, the VWGC closed with the old Jimmy Cliff song, Higher and Higher. Very appropriate, as this choir are certainly up there in popularity and ability.”
