Event information

Join us for a FREE Bloody Mary and beat the Sunday blues with a whole day of home-cookin, deep-southern, bloody-mary infused brunchtime films hailing from the deepest, wildest, warmest deep south of the US of A. With a hog-roast on the roof garden and an unforgettable programme of soon to be cult classics in the main hall, it's the perfect way to work through the Sunday after the night before.

11am COOK COUNTY (US 2008, David Pomes, 93 min) is an excellent drama about the horrors of meth addiction in rural America, and follows the story of a family going through complete meltdown into full-blown addiction, and how it affects their 6-year-old daughter.

1pm GHOST BIRD (US 2009, Scott Croker, 85 min) is a documentary about a small town in Arkansas, an extinct giant Ivory-billed woodpecker and everybody looking for the Holy Grail of birding, while examining the meaning of hope, faith and the limits of certainty in the quest to resurrect this lost bird!

3pm THE FEARLESS FREAKS (US 2005, Bradley Beesley, 103 min) is a documentary on the evolution of the Oklahoma band The Flaming Lips and an insight on what it's like to be a rock star.
As a precursor to tonight's Johnny Knoxville produced documentary at Rich Mix, there's also a chance to see the cult documentary DANCING OUTLAW (US 1991, Jacob Young, 40 min) introducing us to Jesco White, a hard-living, tap-dancing Boone County resident whose repeated run-ins with the law have interfered with his dream of becoming asrenowned a "mountain dancer" as his

Later on, continue the theme with a cinema screening of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, showing at 6.30pm at Rich Mix cinema
