SONJA CVITKOVIC (Berlin) Set & Setting
'Set denotes the preparation of the individual, including his personality structure, like thoughts, expectations and his mood at the time.
Setting is physical - the weather, the room's atmosphere; social - feelings of persons present towards one another; and cultural - prevailing views as to what is real. It is for this reason that manuals or guide-books are necessary'.
Sonja Cvitkovic is an artist and musician. She lives and works in Berlin. Her atmospheric piano sets are influenced by the sound of minimal classic of the 70´s like Steve Reich and Philipp Glass and improvisation. Her expressiv piano pieces are never fully prepared before she goes on stage. She develops different patterns of intimate and minimal melodies to put together live on stage, because her spirit is about seeing where the audience wants to go. This leads to an exhilarating impression of lightness, preventing any of these ideas from settling or gathering any weight. The melodies are coming and going, stretching and repeating. Sonja Cvitkovic creates an intimate, extended atmosphere ending in a powerhouse that refuses any categorization.

VERA NOVEMBER (London)
Vera November is the current project of Verity Susman, known from the band Electrelane. Intense interpreter Vera sound like a captain of a ghost ship, playful and wild, suspended in an obscure hermit landscape full of sound waves. At the helm of her visionary attitude, she investigates a mix of tones, lyrical heartaches and heartbreaks that meet with delicate ballads, metaphysical corus, pop melodies and occasional foray into sanguine instrumental outbreaks in crescendo. Violin, saxophone and accordion reinforce the dreamy flow of her music underway. Her cover of Arthur Russell's song 'Our Last Night Together' is part of the tribute EP by Audika Records. www.myspace.com/veranovember

TOURRISTS: SHERELANA OSTANO ONO VONOBITCH & MELTIFISIO CHAVEZ CHICOMA (London)
Having only performed together acoustically once before on a boat on the Thames, Sherry Ostapovitch (Guitar) and Melissa Castagnetto (Drums) return to the stage together fully electrified. The music they create is experiential and energetic. Sinewy electric guitar weaves through metronomic yet ever shifting drums. Fiery free jazz morphs into meditative rhythms and melodies. This is direct experience music... it comes alive in front of its audience.
As a solo musician Sherry Ostapovitch AKA Music for One has been known for reducing her guitar playing to rubble and pulling tunes out of the wreckage. Having explored both electric and acoustic mediums she has played on bills with musicians as diverse as SunnO))), Lesbians on Ecstasy, Leopard Leg, and Daniel Higgs.
Melissa Castagnetto is an artist and musician living and working in London since 1998. Melissa moves around a self-taught style that merges flow and fragility in her playing. She has collaborated with various visual artists, dancers, musicians and collectives such as Phillip Zoubeck, elffriede, Kaffe Matthews, Isa Suarez, Antifamily, John Barret, Emma hedditch, Sonora, Zulu Turuyama and Joelle Gruenberg. www.musicforone.com www.methodstodance.net

KELLI RUDICK (New York)
Her unique powerful and expressive techniques make use of every timbre the instrument has to offer by slapping, tapping, bending, restringing and de-tuning it. This is the way she makes the instrument morph and transcend in her hands.
Accelerating the delicately complex terrain of her first recording, the new songs add precise string arrangements, driving basslines, steely layers of variant guitars, array mbira, nail violin, and powerful drums to her distinctive chordal compositions.
Kelli Rudick has collaborated with notable artists including Nick Zammuto of the aleatoric electro-folk duo The Books, Alon Leventon of the project Drops of Conciousness and the group Zigmat. She also recorded and toured with the internationally acclaimed guitarist Kaki King. Upcoming her 2nd release.
