Resonance FM DJ and music journalist Jonny Mugwump is taking his Exotic Pylon radio show to The Vortex in Dalston for a series of bi-monthly events. The residency begins on August 13th with an event featuring live performances from Cindytalk and Position Normal with Doug Shipton (Finders Keepers Records/ B-Music) Djing.
This is a departure for the show, which has attracted acclaim over the past couple of years for its live sessions, guest DJ mixes and innovative offshoots such as the Weird Tales For Winter series, which featured contributions from Belbury Poly, Vanessa Daou, Moon Wiring Club and John Foxx among others. As Jonny explains, "Shifting the format of the show into a live context, the residency promises to be Nowmuch more than a collection of disparate artists in a conventional live setting. There will be a strong visual element to each event, and the presence of The Exotic Pylon Radio Orchestra, a shifting collective of musicians, non-musicians, artists, writers and freaks, will add a further element of spontaneity."
