Music for Africa was started 10 years ago by Tom Toomey and provides music education in Limpopo Province, South Africa. Concerned that there was no music in the school curriculum, the charity helps children to learn classical guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums and music recording skills. With each successful year, the work has grown. From just 1 teacher and 20 students in the early days, the charity now has 4 staff teaching over 150 students in 10 different Schools across Limpopo. It has built 3 new classrooms, provided musical instruments and trained 5 music teachers. The Students have also won 3 coveted Bronze Medal awards from Trinity College of Music for Highest Grades.
