The Festival of the Creative Act 2008
The House of Fairy Tales presents an arts and theatre festival for all ages set in the grounds of an English Castle.
Enter through passport control into a parallel universe with a separate currency and three worlds representing three ages: past, present and future.
Each world will be a village with performance spaces and workshop halls, as well as markets, banqueting chambers and even a village pub. The 32 active venues will be host to over 400 Acts over the course of the bank holiday weekend, ranging from world class performances to surreal installations and unexpected interventions. This visual art feast includes ceremonies and rituals as well as unexpected objects and quests, tasks and puzzles. Engage in theatre, puppetry, scrapyard challenges, robot discos, catwalks, films, talks and discussions animated by authors, philosophers, scientists, artists, musicians, designers, comedians, magicians, food genius's, engineers and real snakes. Be surprised and transformed by our game of circus and politics, hosted by characters appearing from the magical, surreal and mythical. An unmissable and unique camping experience for anyone from 90 weeks to 90 years.
Gates open at 2:00pm on Friday 22nd August to set up camp. The main action will start at 9:00am on Saturday morning. Gates will close at Midday on Tuesday.
