Welcome again to the Carhampton Recreation Ground and Butchers Arms for our 10th festival. This year we will be providing an independent Real Ale bar at the hall on Friday pm, Saturday lunchtime and pm, and Sunday lunchtime. The Butchers Arms continues to support the festival offering good food, Bed & Breakfast, (and festival breakfasts), and is open throughout the weekend from Friday evening. Phone 01643 821333.
All camping is at the Recreation Ground field which has shower and toilet facilities and is disabled friendly. We will ensure that there is a 24 hour loo. Regret no hook-ups. The hall has kitchen facilities. (Remember Di’s famous teas). If you are camping, early booking recommended. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Full directions are in the website.
The main hall will be used for most events. The Butchers Arms skittle alley is also available for use at any time for singing or music. Guests for our special 10th anniversary concert are our good friends Rob the Rich (m/c), Nicola Clark (Popular singer/songwriter, songs and observations of life with guitar), The Bristol Shantymen. (some of the finest voices from the Bristol area together) (TBC). Alice and David Wylde (traditional English and American songs), No Fixed Abode (A touch of the Irish, wonderful songs, beautifully performed), Mike Nicholson and Capella. (Both great performers of quality songs who will also appear together as a trio 'Alchemy'). Workshops so far agreed are West Gallery, Local Tales, and Wild Thyme Border Morris (TBC).
The festival and camping is based in the middle of CARHAMPTON. The village has a local shop which stocks the usual needs (papers, off license etc.). Please respect the needs of the locals and keep the informal noise, however good it is, down after midnight.
Looking forward to meeting up (again). Let's make our 10th festival special.
