Event information

This is a chance to see the work of one of the greatest modern composers the way it was envisaged by the New York City Ballet.

"The Soldier's Tale" was conceived and written in the aftermath of the First World War with Stravinsky facing the possibility of permanent exile from Russia. The ballet concerns the travails of a soldier returning home from the wars. As he makes his way home our hero is accosted by the devil in disguise. What ensues is a tale of treachery and tragedy told through music and dance that resonates with contemporary audiences as powerfully as it did when Stravinsky first wrote the piece.

All ages.
