Folksongs, Hymns and Spirituals

Janet 0bi-Keller and David Wordsworth add to the ‘Folksongs, Hymns and Spirituals’ theme by playing not one but two pianos, performing folk song settings by the eccentric Australian born pianist and composer Percy Grainger – Molly on the Shore based on two Cork reel tunes and Country Gardens, a typically unlikely take on an English Morris Dance Tune; in addition Shostakovitch’s Concertino, a 9-minute romp inspired by Russian folk music.
