Event information

The Pointy Field Faust Fest is the coolest, cosiest festival of music and performing arts in the South. Located in a beautiful oasis tucked away on the edge of the New Forest, the festival provides great music, and all of the anarchic antics that turn a weekend away into the holiday of a lifetime for the whole family.

As any festival connoisseur would expect, the Faust Fest is a place for people to come together and share tasty food and drink, listen to great live music, and participate in all manner of workshops and activities.

Organised and run by a tight-knit group of family and friends, it is the friendliest most inclusive event that you will to come to this summer. If you come once, you will be back year after year.

The best thing is that it's all for a truly worthy cause. 100% of the profits from the Faust Fest will be invested in the development of cultural centres which will help provide traditional musicians and their communities in Kenya with a sustainable source of income.

The Pointy Field Faust Fest grew out of a modest fund-raising plan in 2006. British cultural organisation Faustuss International had planned a sponsored "Drumathon" in which a number of volunteers would play African drum rhythms for 24 hours non-stop. It proved impossible to find a local authority who would allow this event to take place on public land due to noise restrictions, so it was decided to create a mini-festival in a field in Dorset. Before long, Faustuss were booking a host of bands and DJs, and the drumathon became one of the most memorable events of Summer 2006.

It was clear that it couldn't stop there, but it was also clear that a bigger location would be required for the following year. This is where local farmer Dan Tanner came to the rescue, providing the most beautiful and inspiring location that any festival could possibly boast. Pointy Field Faust Fest 2007 offered lakeside camping, freshwater swimming, and sunsets to die for.

The Pointy Field Faust Fest is located on the edge of the New Forest near the village of Sopley in Hampshire. The man-made lake could easily be mistaken for a completely natural feature, surrounded by a variety of indigenous trees and plantlife to create a scene that one might expect to see in the illustrations of a fairytale.
