A Joke Too Far: Stand Up for Burma

Presented by: Islington and Hackney Amnesty Group
0LONDON: Hackney Attic
PTuesday 4th November, 2014
N7:00pm

Event information

The Islington and Hackney Amnesty comedy night is back for the sixth year running for an evening of laughs, fun and good times. Comedians are Marcel Lucont, Kate Smurthwaite, Suzy Bennett, Chris Neill, Lou Sanders, Daryl Perry and Dave Lemkin.

All proceeds go to Amnesty International to help them fight human rights injustices in Burma and the rest of the world.

The comedy night was originally organised in response to a crackdown by the Burmese military regime on freedom of speech in general and comedians in particular. Hundreds of stand-up comedians in the country were rounded up and imprisoned, many have been tortured.

So come and join us to have a laugh and raise funds for Amnesty International at the same time.

"This an hour of non-stop entertainment with seriously big laughs, wild and free and very, very funny."

"Like a trim Welsh, bearded, bespectacled, still alive Barry White, Daryl Perry brought smooth tones and big punchlines to the evening... a firm favourite with our effusive crowd." Fat Controller Comedy

Dave Lemkin
