Joe Boyd's career began as tour manager for blues giant Muddy Waters. He was stage manager when Bob Dylan plugged in at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965. He produced Pink Floyd's first single Arnold Layne and the first documentary film about Jimi Hendrix. He discovered Nick Drake, Fairport Convention and the Incredible String Band. He worked with Sandy Denny, John Martyn, Nico and Richard and Linda Thompson, besides running the underground UFO, at the time the coolest club in London. His autobiography White Bicycles won many plaudits. At the Greystones, Joe Boyd will be in conversation with JP Bean, author of the acclaimed Singing From The Floor, and will answer questions from the audience. A rare evening of great insights and sparkling anecdotes is guaranteed.
