(with apologies to Desert Island Discs)
And featuring live music from Skylark
Tickets £10 to include a glass of wine
BBC journalist Sophie Pierce will be in conversation with Philip Reeve, award-winning author of Mortal Engines, and many other books for children and young adults. Philip will be sharing his top ten favourite pieces of music, as well as chatting about his life and work, and there will be live performances of some of his song choices by the folk band Skylark.
The bestselling Mortal Engines is a gripping adventure story set in a future world where moving cities trawl the globe. At Christmas it will be released as a Hollywood film, produced by the team responsible for the acclaimed Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, so now is the chance to get some insider information on what is likely to be next big film that people are talking about!
The event is being held in memory of young Ashburtonian Felix Murdin, who died last year at the age of just 20, from SUDEP – sudden unexpected death in epilepsy.
The event – which will be held at Ashburton Arts – is a charity fundraiser for SUDEP Action, which supports those bereaved by epilepsy and funds research, and Ashburton Arts.
