Our first intimate concert of 2019 features the amazingly talented Gary Edward Jones, fresh from the hugely successful premiere of his Something About Simon concert at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre in November, (Review here http://hairyphotographer.co.uk/theres-something-about-simon/) and ahead of a multi-venue UK tour.

Believe me… the only person who does Paul Simon better than Gary is Paul Simon himself. That said, there is something about Jones that goes far above and beyond because Gary is an extremely talented singer-songwriter in his own right.

Prior to the tour starting in earnest, Gary is undertaking a small number of gigs as himself, one of the first being here at Ruthin AllStyles. Together with his lovely wife Elfin Bow, Gary will be performing an eclectic mix of songs from his 2014 Radio Caroline Chart-topping album “The Cabinet Maker” along with new material destined to feature on his next album. Add to that, a selection of Paul Simon classics from the Something About Simon show and you can see why this is a gig not to be missed.

As always with our concerts, the evening will begin with a round of floor spots by a variety of local singers who will deliver a broad mix of Folk, Blues, R&B and Country, followed by two fabulous 40-minute sets from our guest.

THE VENUE
The function room at The Feathers Inn is ‘seated with tables’. There is a separate well-stocked bar with guest ales. Tea/coffee is available. Disabled access and plenty of nearby parking. And if you want to stay over, The Feathers also has beautifully appointed rooms available at reasonable prices.

Entrance is a massively subsidised £8 in advance, £10 on the door.
(with the usual concession for regular members who can pick up their tickets on any Thursday club night).
