Adriana Vasques is a London based singer, pianist and composer from
Trieste, an Italian town on the Adriatic sea. Her album TACTUS,
released in 2015. features 12 songs combining a taste for melody and
playfully asymmetric harmony and rhythms.

TACTUS is the Latin word for touch – specifically the sense of touch.
Also, in musical terms, it refers to the ancient practice of using the
heartbeat as a metronome, the rhythmic pulse of performed pieces. The
heart implicitly contained in the title Tactus combines in a single
concept the heartbeat and the musical pace, and enhances the parallel
between emotions and the gestures that, eventually, will follow.

The songs in Tactus will be revisited here in a new light and
rearranged to welcome a very special line up featuring two of the most
talented and versatile musicians in the London scene.
Multi-instrumentalist and composer Shanti Paul Jayasinha, very well
known for his many contributions to the jazz, Latin and World Music
scenes, and Brazilian drummer Marius Rodrigues, who has expanded his
vocabulary from the most amazing Brazilian drumming to include a
multitude of world rhythms.
