For the second instalment of TOTAL CULT and start to your long bank holiday weekend, we're bringing you the best in noisy live electronics.
LORAINE JAMES - "From north London, James released her debut album in 2017, was one of five women (including Aja) given an Oram Award in 2018 and has started 2019 with an EP, Button Mashing, on Dutch label New York Haunted. Its four tracks are some of the most excitingly uncategorisable and rulebook-flouting club music I’ve heard in a while." The Quietus

SPATIAL - "London electronic music producer and low-end provocateur Spatial (aka Matt Spendlove) weaves together a mix of dubbed-out techno and rave experiments, alongside fanciful noise in his dj sets which offer both creative musings and dancey moments. In his own live sets and recordings Spatial approaches low frequency vibrations with a minimalist’s scalpel, carving out space for snare grooves and tech house glitches."
MIKE NEAVES - "Since 2008 Neaves has released a slew of albums and EPs that mix drum machines, pianos, Wurlitzers and field recordings to create something forward thinking. Imagine CJ Bolland reworking Pierre Schaffer’s musique concrete compositions, but with an ear on the dancefloor and you’re on the right tracks. On new album ‘Black Sauce’ Neaves manages to find the right balance between raging bangers and subtle melodic experimentations." The Ransom Note
