Choro emerged in the late 19th century as a mixture of European harmony with African rhythms, and can be considered the jazz of Brazil. Alvorada explore influences from all over Brazil, playing choros with the irresistible swing of samba from the south and baião from the northeast. As well as playing classics from the choro genre, Alvorada play original works, revisiting the genre with influences from the UK.
