Firestations, with support from The Leaf Library & Alizée Leriche
Firestations is a band that spans genres from shoegazey indie and intimate folksy warmth, through to addictive synth pop and harmony driven psychedelia. Their 'Automatic Tendencies' project saw three experimental EPs, and accompanying art collections, released on Lost Map Records from August 2020 to Summer 2021. Second album 'The Year Dot' came out in 2018 and 'Dream Home' followed on WIAIWYA in 2020. Their last two singles 'Small Island' and 'The Circular' garnered praise and repeat plays from Marc Riley on BBC6Music (as well as Gideon Coe, Cerys Matthews and Radcliffe & Maconie), who called Small Island “a perfect pop song”.
New single 'Reflection Spells' is a melancholy meditation on young love and doomed romance.
“Dreamy guitars, celestial percussion and hazy melodies, Firestations present that sense of worldly vulnerability in synth-driven glimpses of the sublime.” THE LIST
The Leaf Library create experimental dream-like music built on layers of chiming guitars, pulsing electronics, noise and looping drones. They have released three studio albums (Daylight Versions, About Minerals and The World Is A Bell) as well a number of electronic and experimental albums and EPs, remix compilations and longform tracks.
They have released five Monument CDRs; an on-going series of experimental solo and side projects on their Objects Forever imprint. The band have collaborated with musicians as diverse as singer Ed Dowie, artist Teruyuki Kurihara, The Clientele's Alistair MacLean, noise group Far Rainbow and Iskra Strings, and have provided music for a number of exhibitions, films and performances.
