An ensemble of six multi-award-winning young musicians studying at London's Royal Academy of Music (RAM), including the recently-formed Regency Quartet, will perform two late-19th-century masterpieces: Tchaikovsky’s sextet for strings Op 70, 'Souvenir de Florence', and Brahms' String Sextet No 1, Op 18.
Two violins, two violas and two cellos to delight us on a late autumnal evening!
Four of the ensemble are undergraduates at the Royal Academy and members of the recently-formed Regency String Quartet, which received a Frost Trust advanced specialist training competitive award. They are joined by two post-graduate students (Wanshu Qiu, viola, and Simon Guémy, cello) who have wide experience with well-known musicians, orchestras and conductors.
The Royal Academy of Music is currently celebrating the 200-year anniversary of its founding in 1822.
Tickets: £22. Children and students U26 with ID are free. NHS staff £5.
The venue is a church with comfortable seating and some pillars. Seats are not numbered.
Covid 19: masks are optional. Government guidance will always be followed.
