Event information
Nairn Gaelic Choir is a 4-part a capella choir, whose main purpose is to keep alive the Gaelic language through performance of traditional and modern Gaelic songs.
The choir was formed in 1991 and since then has competed in the annual National Mod, winning their competition several times and appearing on television, while also visiting other competitions and festivals over the years, including Vancouver, Canada and Tralee, Ireland.
Most of the choir's repertoire is in Gaelic, although they do have a few non-Gaelic songs, and do a lot of carol singing around Christmas!
Originally formed in 1936, the Elgin Strathspey & Reel Society is a Scottish Fiddle Orchestra dedicated to promoting Traditional music. The society is conducted by Stephen Cooper and plays in many concerts in the local area, as well as making trips abroad to promote its music.
You can expect a rousing evening of Traditional music and song in aid of the worthy charity, Alzheimer Scotland.
