Giles Abbott: Stone Soup & The Children of Fire

In April, the Cafe is proud to welcome back the magnificent Giles Abbott. Giles has not just one but two sets of stories to delight us this evening.

First up will be Stone Soup where Giles will regale us with a story of hope, resilience, ingenuity and, ultimately, of what we can do together. Battered and exhausted, leaving the war behind him, a man walks home through a torn land. Stopping at a village his request for food and shelter is refused. So he pulls a pot from his bag and begins to make Stone Soup. A story of hope, resilience, ingenuity and, ultimately, of what we can do together.

Then we will dive into the world of Norse mythology with tales of The Children of Fire. You all know Loki, but have you heard of his evil children? And how he got them? Vivid, funny, action-packed, these great Norse myths tell of creation and foretell great destruction.

But that’s not all! As well as our featured teller, you’ll also be entertained by wondrous stories from your very own Cafe Crew. So join us in the cozy Kitchen Garden Cafe, relax with delicious food and drink and enjoy a magical evening of tales.

Food Served from 6.30, stories start at 7.30.
