Event information
Darren McGarvey will be performing a set of spoken word and music/rhetoric at FRETS on Friday 16th June in the Strathaven Hotel. The concert is presented in association with Glasgow Jazz Festival and will feature an opening set by free-jazz improv saxophonist, Raymond Macdonald. The event aims to highlight the connections between spoken word, jazz, hip hop, and will also feature a set by special guest Becci Wallace, whose material has been described by Celtic Connections as consisting of “original, artful alignment of folk and hip-hop elements”. BBC Radio Scotland presenter and Pearlfishers frontman David Scott will also chat to Darren, Becci and Raymond before their performances.
