Event information
We are delighted that this years choirs are:
PECKHAM RYE SINGS
"Peckham Rye Sings is a fun and friendly community choir based in Peckham and led by local choir leader Xenia Davis (who) sing beautiful a cappella folk, gospel and world music songs in 3 and 4 part harmony. All songs are taught by ear." (naturalvoice.net)
TONGUE AND GROOVE CHOIR
"Born from a love of performing, Tongue & Groove is ... all about engaging with the audience and putting on a good show (combining) the best of community choirs, with a strong focus on movement and performance. T&G have ... participated in theatrical performances for companies such as The Young Vic, The National Theatre, VoiceLab and Spitalfield’s Music Festival." (Making Music)
SOUTH LONDON VOICES
"South London Voices (formerly Bermondsey Voices) was founded by singer Kristina Nilsson in May 2012 and the choir has performed at countless events and places in London such as The Lord Mayor's Show, The Young Vic, St John's Waterloo, Bermondsey Carnival, Bermondsey Folk Music Festival, Bermondsey Street Festival and the Southbank Centre" (Kristina Nilsson)
PALACE ACAPELLA with BECKENHAM ACAPELLA (collaborative)
"Palace Acappella is a non-auditioned community choir based in the heart of Crystal Palace ... and have recently taken part in the UK Choir Festival in Berlin (and) opened the final concert at the prestigious Berlin Philharmonie. Beckenham Acappella is a new community choir in Beckenham, also non-auditioned and sister choir to Palace Acappella. Fresh, enthusiastic and courageous. Both choirs were co-founded by local choir leader Eleanor Rastall and local resident Laura Stevens. Community is of great importance to ... both choirs, as is a safe space to explore and develop our voices and skills." (Eleanor Rastall)
Come and support your favorite choir and raise the roof of St Faith's Church with an array of music.
