MEGAN GOODWIN possesses a stunningly sophisticated voice that, reminds me, during several songs, ever so slightly of the well known artist Norah Jones, and has the ability to send shivers down your spine as she reaches the most striking notes." Songs consist of storys and tales about everyday life. Now joined with a full band on stage the songs are more beaty and alive and the strings...ahhhh... just tug on your heart strings. Megan Goodwin, the folk songstress heads up a strong line up at The Miller bar tonight. Goodwin has a stunning voice to mark her songs from the pack and has been receiving plaudits and rave reviews from a growing band of followers after each new show.
ROBERT RORISON
GRACE BANKS & THE BAND who started writing songs after rescuing a guitar on its way to the dump, performed four of her own songs and immediately made her mark. Grace is clearly an artist for whom songwriting is a serious craft and who immerses herself in the songs she writes. Opener, 'Under a Blue Sky' is typical of her repertoire, a song full of warmth and wordplay, and a small story in its own right.
