Art School: Age 10-16yrs: Beat the Creative Block this February Half Term

Art School is for those who love being creative and learning fantastic new artistic techniques. Led by our expert team you will explore art, have fun and make some fabulous works of art!

Beat the Creative Block

Do you love to create, but sometimes get stuck staring at a blank piece of paper? Join us to try out fun techniques and use different art materials for creative challenges. You'll leave with a toolkit of tricks to help beat the creative block for good! Each session runs from 10am - 3pm and all materials will be provided.

Wednesday 15th February - Paint, paint, paint! (and some drawing too...)
Develop your skills and ideas at this relaxed and friendly workshop. We will use different watercolour and acrylic techniques to create a small series of artworks using the world around us and our individual interests as inspiration.

Thursday 16th February - The Sculpture Zone
Lift your ideas off the page at this 3D workshop. Working mainly with wire, we'll begin by learning some different skills and techniques as a group before designing and developing a finished piece.

Friday 17th February - The Illustration Imaginarium
Leave the day teeming with ideas of who, what and where you could draw in this illustration workshop. Play surrealist games to generate creature concept art, illustrate an original story and reimagine everyday objects to create extraordinary art!

These workshops are based at City Art Gallery. Please provide lunch and a drink. A registration form must be completed on arrival.
