An Evening with Sir Max Hastings
Max Hastings is a journalist born and bred, having reported as foreign correspondent from more than 60 countries and 11 wars for the BBC and the Evening Standard. The first journalist to enter the liberated Port Stanley during the Falklands War, he was editor of The Daily Telegraph and Standard before retiring in 2001. He received a knighthood in 2002.
He has presented historical documentaries for the BBC, and is the author of many books, including Bomber Command, Overlord and The Battle for the Falklands, and Nemesis: The Battle for Japan, 1944-45 . Sir Max was President of the CPRE for 5 years, currently writes a column for the Daily Mail, also contributing to The Guardian and The New York Review of Books. This evening he will speak and answer questions. A lively exchange of views is guaranteed!
