Event information

Records Records Records present an intimate show with Singing Adams fresh off the back of the release of their debut single "I Need Your Mind".

SINGING ADAMS

After Broken Family Band split, Steve Adams wrote some songs thinking he'd just do some bedroomy electronic bits and pieces but quickly realized he needed a proper band to bash them out with. He asked some people he really liked, that he thought would be fun to play with, and they said yes. Michael played bass with Steve on a solo project and did a couple of shows for fun about three years ago. Steve knew Melinda for a long time, first as a keyboard player in Absentee, then singing and playing guitar in her own band, and then he saw her playing drums in Wet Paint and decided to try and steal her. Apparently, she's on a timeshare. Steve met Matt years ago when they were in very different bands, and was always someone he thought he'd like to play with. He kept bumping into him on the W7 and thought it must be fate. Now he makes everything he plays on in Singing Adams sound 50 percent better immediately. Steve writes most of the material but everyone chips in and the sound is determined by who they are. The big thing about the band is that everyone can sing - everyone has great voices and they all use them. They're not stupid songs, and they're not clever songs, they're just songs that they've enjoyed making. If anything's felt too samey or like someone else's thing then they've ditched it (unless it was really good...). The first double A side I Need Your Mind (single edit)/Amateur Reactions is out December on Records Records Records records, with the album Everybody Friends Now is following Spring 2011.
