Event information

Trembling Bells (http://myspace.com/tremblingbells)
A Glasgow folk rock four piece enjoying widespread plaudits since last May's release of their critically acclaimed, Belle & Sebastien produced, second album Abandoned Love.
Songwriter and percussionist Alex Neilson comes from a Jazz background, has been in a million bands on the Glasgow music scene and used to drum for Bonnie Prince Billy. Vocalist Lavinia Blackwall is a classi...cally trained soprano. Her vocal style is almost medieval which lends a uniqueness to this classic 60s-folk-garage-rock band.
Their third offering The Constant Pageant, was released last week on Honest Jon records.
"they take the antic forms, loosen them and make them arresting and new once more" The Observer
"one of the best new British bands of any genre" Uncut
**** Mojo (Abandoned Love review)

Dead Rat Orchestra
Fresh from supporting Godspeed You Black Emperor, Dead rat Orchestra play experimental folk while weilding an array of antique, computer based as well as improvised instrumentation. The result is a light and unintimidating folk-math-rock.

Happy Mammoth
Three part harmonies for acoustic guitar and voice from three young Trinity College trained musicians. Simple, gentle and beautiful.
