Open Door Opera is an exciting new venture into opera aiming to break down traditional stereotypes and present opera in an exciting and engaging way for everyone to enjoy.
In this double-bill they present two 20th century operas inspired by magic. Maurice Ravel’s L’enfant is a rude and obnoxious child who after being sent to bed receives an unexpected and enchanted retribution. In The Medium, Gian Carlo Menotti (whose 100th anniversary is this year) explores the eerie and unltimately dangerous world of the 19th century séance
