Come on down!! Its going to be a wonderful affair!
Our headliner is STOKES, WILLIAM, a band quickly gaining a reputation amongst the London folk scene. With the lyrical talents of Johnny Flynn, the melodies of Mumford and Sons and the instrumentation of Beirut, Stokes William create music to be treasured. Their track ‘Zion’ (recorded with Marcus Mumford and Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons), was a standout track on the Communion compilation record, and they have since played several Communion nights alongside the likes of Alessi’s Ark and Matthew and the Atlas. Their energetic gigs have given them a strong following and made them ones to watch for the future.
We are delighted to invite Stokes, William to play the Gallery Cafe where they will treat us to a very special acoustic set.

We also have the wonderful Whiskey Moon Face. The Mountain Bea found this band playing The Magpie’s Nest and fell in love with their eccentrically unique sound. They mix accordions, clarinets and the voice of an angel to create music we can’t quite place in a genre. With a ever-changing line-up and songs about anything from living in Hackney to Pirates, you can never be quite sure what you will get from Whiskey Moon Face, but we can guarantee it will be a treat!

Opening the show is 16 year old singer songwriter Laura Boyle. She is already making serious waves across Tumblr after shyly uploading her songs onto Soundcloud and finding that hundreds of people were slowly falling in love with them. A voice which mixes Feist and Vashti Bunyan and lyrics far beyond her years, she could have a serious future ahead of her.
