Event information

THOMAS BAILEY: Have guitar, will travel. Bailey's earned his miles as a tireless traveller, enthusiastic band member, traditionalist and innovator with such bands as the Hogwaller Ramblers, Faster than Walking, The Forge Mountain Diggers, and the Freight Hoppers. His music has brought him all across America, Sweden, France and the U.K.
Bailey's accolades include The Old Time Herald magazine which raved," Thomas Bailey is simply one of my favorite singers" while Bluegrass Unlimited called his latest album "...a breathtaking collection of old-time music that deserves to be an integral part of any serious music library." Bluegrass matron, Lynn Morris says, "...a wonderful singer and a powerful guitarist."

THE DRY BONES BAND: The Dry Bones Band purvey fine acoustic music for your listening pleasure. They are harmonious singers and invokers of melodious spirits! This London-based quartet take their name from Bascom Lamar Lunsford's seminal banjo tune and play original material and a diverse selection of American folk, blues, southern gospel and country. Each member of the band sings and together they deftly change style and accompaniment. These are songs for the New Depression.

THE CARRIVICK SISTERS: The Carrivick Sisters are twins Laura and Charlotte Carrivick from South Devon. They play a variety of bluegrass instruments (mainly guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro and fiddle) with vocal harmonies and are both songwriters. Although their background is in bluegrass, their music has a strong folk influence which is evident in their original songs, many of which are inspired by their local landscape and stories.
In 2007 they won the South West Busker's and Street Entertainer's Competition, gaining themselves their first spot at Glastonbury Festival. In 2008 Laura achieved 2nd place at the RockyGrass Fiddle Contest in America. More recently, the Carrivick Sisters were finalists in the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2010.
"I am very impressed by The Carrivick Sisters, one of the best young duos I've heard. The girls sing and play as one and their work is characterised by great musicality. They are not only very talented instrumentalists and singers but they write really good songs as well." - Ralph McTell
