At first glance the name JUNIP means nothing, but if we say that it is the band that José González (Vocals/Guitar) plays with when taking a break from his solo career, then it changes everything.
Accompanied by Elias Araya (drums) and Tobias Winterkorn (Organ/Synth) the Swedish man hardly modifies the DNA of his intimate sleepy folk, although the inclusion of more instruments and a pop aroma which comes off some of his compositions forces us to see JUNIP as the optimist side of the author of "In Our Nature".
There is still the devotions to Nick Drake, but it has been touched with a wider range of colours.
The band have created a record label, 'Teme Shet', to release their material like "Black Refugee EP" which for a moment is their only reference.
