SARABETH TUCEK

Brooklyn-based singer Sarabeth Tucek comes to Bath with her hauntingly beautiful dusky, desert folk. Influenced by Dylan and Cat Stevens, her singing voice has been compared to Karen Carpenter and her style to Cat Power and Neil Young.

Her first single, “Something For You”, became single of the week twice on Steve Lamacq’s influential BBC radio show, and was also famously covered by The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Produced by Ethan Johns (Kings Of Leon) and Luther Russell (Richmond Fontaine, Noah & The Whale), her eponymous debut album received rapturous reviews, leading to shows with Bob Dylan himself.

Sarabeth comes to Bath as part of her UK tour promoting her “luminescent” (NME) second album, also produced by Luther Russell, and fresh of the back of releasing her new single ‘Smile for no one’ via Sonic Cathedral Recordings.

URUSEN

Returning to their roots in Bath for this single release tour, Urusen are a band beginning to make waves on the UK music scene. Described as one of BBC Introducing’s festival highlights, and predicted by the music industries magazine Music Week as “destined to make an impact” Urusen combine the best of the current British indie-folk with great contemporary American bands like Midlake and The National, as they shift effortlessly between something intrinsically English, yet akin to the epic Midwest. With an eclectic array of mostly acoustic instruments and a lyrical, story-telling signature to their songs, Urusen’s gigs will take you on an epic music journey.

The band were spotted in 2010 by renowned UK producer Steve Osborne (KT Tunstall, Elbow, Cat’s Eyes) and have since recorded an album at Peter Gabriel’s Realworld Studios. This event marks their first single release from this forthcoming album, and a very limited edition double A-side vinyl will be available to buy, as well as a free download from their website.
