With a celebrated fusion of funk vocal-patterns, divergent rhythm 'n' blues riffs and a heady New Orleans atmosphere, notorious genre alchemist and former Crash Test Dummies member, Benjamin Darvill, has developed a reputation as one of the most thrilling live blues artists on the world stage under his Son of Dave moniker. Benjamin's conspicuous songs stem from a real ache to conquer a guitar dominated musical world with his raucous harmonica playing. Fuelled along by vocal beat-boxing, foot stomping and a medley of improvised percussion, The Son of Dave imagination concocts a wholly modern yet timeless sound. Armed with little more than a harmonica, shakers, a loop pedal and his voice, Son of Dave transforms into a phenomenal one man band that has been leaving audiences open jawed across Europe and America. Following performances on Later With Jools Holland and a starring role in a worldwide advertising campaign for Microsoft, Benjamin Darvill's maverick bluesman persona is set to transfix a global audience.
