Event information

On Friday September 23rd Bloomsbury Lanes is throwing a fundraising shindig for the Oxjam Brick Lane festival that takes place in October. Joining us for this party will be some of our favourite artists that we know will ensure the party is jumping from the get go.

Brassroots (http://www.brassrootsmusic.com/)
Brassroots. Born on the streets of East London 2008. Louder than life.
Brassroots are an explosive 8 piece brass band formed by American trombonist Jerome Harper, whose mission in life is to establish a flourishing brass band scene in our nation’s capital.
In 2010 Harper took the band from strength to strength, setting stages ablaze from Scala to Glastonbury, London Jazz Festival to Lovebox, Secret Garden Party to the Grand Finale of Big Brother live on Channel 4.
Having independently released (and sold out of) their self-titled debut EP, Brassroots have received global radio play from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank and LA’s legendary KCRW. All this caught the attention of DoRight! Music, who released the Good Life EP worldwide & topped the Jazz charts and racked up over 200 iTunes chart appearances so far.
With a sky-rocketing notoriety, Brassroots are currently enjoying a residency at Rich Mix, one of London’s coolest venues. On the second Wednesday of every month ‘Brassroots Presents’ showcases new acts before taking the stage themselves for an illicit love triangle between Michael Jackson, Gnarls Barkely & a whole load of horns....

Nathan “Flutebox” Lee (http://www.flutebox.tv/)
With his trademark live Fluteboxing (beat boxing through the flute while playing it at the same time), Nathan ‘Flutebox’ Lee’s explosive blend unites Hip Hop, Dubstep and Beatbox beats with Jazz, Funk and Eastern melodies.
This former pirate radio Jungle MC is a true 21st Century musical pioneer, taking live acoustic performance to the next level and urban music into uncharted waters with his hi-octane, hyper-percussive show.
Having collaborated with everyone from The Prodigy to The Asian Dub Foundation and burned up stages as prestigious as The Southbank Centre, Glastonbury and Blue Peter, Nathan brings a multicultural concoction of grime-infested grooves and pushes the boundaries in beat boxing showmanship.

Makka & Corsini (Bustin’ Loose)
Head honchos of Bustin’ Loose, these boys have booked the likes of Eliza Doolittle, Maverick Sabre, Deekline and many more for their own night and then supported many other big names as DJ’s in their own right. With a guaranteed bag of hype-filled party tunes spanning funk, hip hop, breaks, disco and more these guys know how to get people poppin!

The Monitors
Death by Audio residents mix up a whole host of wonderful tunage every time they grace the decks on their travels across festivals, clubs and parties all over. Expect a dynamite demonstration in what music taste is mixing rock, hip hop, indie, soul, house and whole bunch more!

With all that fantastic music and a good cause behind it you would be a fool not to come down and shake a leg for charity!
