Auto De Fe (previously Sub Rosa) formed approx. 2 years ago, with the disbanding of a Hampshire based heavy rock band. With a new vocalist and bassist, a much more open minded and experimental approach to writing music and a frustration towards recycled, middle-of-the-road music pathed the way for a new style and direction. Taking on progressive influences from 70's experimental bands right through to modern electronic music, Sub Rosa are constantly trying to fuse together interesting ambient soundscapes, heavy riffs, melodic vocals and contagious rhythms to give audiences something alternative and interesting to listen to.

Auto De Fe are aiming directly at the genuine music lover, not a band that will easily fit in to any latest sceny craze, and they're not planning to either. The best is still yet to come from this band..." Auto De Fe make thoughtful, impassioned and often frantic progressive rock. Formed a year ago after the dispansion of Hampshire based heavy rock act Sub Rosa, Auto De Fe have recently completed their debut EP 'Appomattox'. Combining moments of glacial atmospherics with pounding tribal rhythms, head-scratching grooves and melodic vocals Auto De Fe are a willfully difficult band to pin down; although comparisons have been made to the likes of Tool, The Mars Volta, Radiohead, Bjork, King Crimson, Oceansize, Jeff Buckley and Aphex Twin.
