Concert starts at 8.00pm in the King Charles Hall, Winchester Guildhall, and will last approximately one hour (no interval)
With over 100 recordings to her name, Lynda Sayce is one of Britain's best-known lutenists. She has has broadcast extensively on radio and TV and is principal lutenist with The King's Consort, the Musicians of the Globe, the New London Consort and Ex Cathedra. She is also director of the lute ensemble Chordophony, whose repertory and instrumentarium is based exclusively on her
research. Lynda has written for Early Music and the New Grove Dictionary of Music, and holds a Ph.D for her research on the history of the theorbo, which is to be published shortly.
Lynda will be performing a mixed programme of European music, mainly from the seventeenth century, on a ten-course lute.
