This ground-breaking study of Lovers Rock or ‘romantic reggae’ explores the black British sound of the 1970s and 80s which developed against a backdrop of riots and racial tensions, and went on to influence a huge number of musicians, from Gregory Isaacs to UB40. Introduced by the film’s director, Menelik Shabazz.
