Event information

The James Taylor Quartet are famed for their up-beat, energetic live shows and have no signs of slowing down: One of the country's great, talented instrumentalists of his generation; James has been taking his trademark, 'howling' Hammond sound to the masses for 25 years! The band's relentlessly entertaining tunes take their inspiration from rare-groove style funk and boogaloo funk from the 60s and 70s. Live, the band is explosive with a breath takingly diverse and unmatched back catalogue including the theme from Starsky & Hutch and Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery. James and his distinct Hammond sound have also featured in many albums by artists such as Tom Jones, Manic Street Preachers, The Pogues and U2. Throughout the years James Taylor's outfits have been awarded the Ronnie Scotts Jazz Award and were invited to do sessions with legendary radio presenter John Peel.
This is heavy instrumental music at it's best: A mesmeric, mellow groove delivered by an act on top of their game and clearly enjoying themselves...
