We are particularly gleeful to announce that we are launching Cupids in Nooses 2012 : Anti-Valentine's Festival with THE HEARTBREAK HOEDOWN! On Friday 10th February at Hagglers Corner with the amazing headliners Cut a Shine, The Payroll Union plus more acts to be confirmed, and DJ's from Drop The Bomb until the wee hours causing feet to move and hearts to pound. It's gonna be a right proper knees up at the beautifully re-developed Hagglers Corners, a hop skip and a jump away from The Rude Shipyard.

CUT A SHINE
Cut A Shine is a London based troupe of traditional musicians, dynamic dancers and crazy callers determined to spread the word that the Hoedown is a'happening. From Spitalfields to Sheffield, from Amnesty to Bestival, Cut A Shine are putting ceilidh dance back on the map - whether at sell out dances across London or the top summer festivals. This "Anarchic Hillbilly Barn Dancing Squad" host a rip-roaring, thigh-slapping, pavement-stomping, exhilarating, heart thumping, blood pumping barn dance show. Whilst the banjo and the fiddle set the tone, the callers instruct any audience through do-si-do's and strip the willows, until all are involved!

THE PAYROLL UNION
Suited and bearded gentlemen transported from 1968 Southern America to 2012 South Yorkshire. They are here to bless your ears with acoustic murder ballads, shuffle your feet with country stomp and break your heart with tales of whiskey n wimmin. DROP THE BOMB
Downstairs: Keeping real with rough and ready hoedown funk bombs, dirty blues and old school r 'n b from prohibition days. Forget your polish and post-production, it's gonna be deep, dirty and R-A-W.

Upstairs: Sophisticated sounds for refined ears - from 60s lounge jazz,mod sounds to disco and soul for people in tight suits. Sensible dance moves, retro sleaze and grooves that come with subtitles."
