The Jensen Ehwald duo consists of German saxophonist Peter Ehwald and Danish bassist Henrik Jensen. The repertoire consists of German and Danish folk/trad songs with a few original tunes. The music is treated very loose and free, but with an underlying understanding of what is needed from each performer and piece. The Tenor/Soprano sax and Double bass compliment each other beautifully, and these great old songs shine in these divine surroundings.
Peter Ehwald is an intensely touring musician who studied Saxophone at the Royal Academy of Music and City College New York. Henrik Jensen studied electric bass at The Musicians Institute. He later transitioned to the double bass at the Royal Academy of Music on the Under-Graduate Jazz course.
