Event information

The winners of this year's Young Artist Platform, which attracted an exceptional level of applicant, perform at Scunthorpe. In some ways the pinnacle of Oxford Lieder's commitment to emerging talent, this is a "must-hear" occasion, showcasing the future ambassadors of song.

Lucy Rebecca Hall, soprano, hails from Nottinghamshire, England. She currently studies on the opera course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a full scholarship, under the tutelage of Professor Susan McCulloch. In 2010 Lucy was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Music from the Guildhall along with the accolade of winning the Dove Memorial Prize for being the highest marked graduate of 2010, across any discipline, the Ann Wyburd Prize for the best lieder performed in final recitals and the Concert Recital Diploma. She repeated this success in her Masters by being awarded the highest mark ever given for a Masters Final Recital.

Gavin Roberts enjoys a busy and varied career as a Piano Accompanist. He has partnered singers in recital at The Wigmore Hall, Baribican Hall & The Royal Festival Hall, and is Artistic Director of the concert series SONG in the CITY. Recent and current engagements have included Brahms' Liebesliederwaltzer as a duet partner to Graham Johnson, The Young Songmakers' Almanac, and A Soldier and a Maker directed by Iain Burnside - a play about the life of Ivor Gurney staged in the Barbican Pit Theatre. Alongside soprano Lucy Hall, he was the winner of the 2012 Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform.
