Event information

Formed in 2009 in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland, New Sunset Hotel's first year saw them reachNo. 10 in the Irish Charts with their independently released debut single 'The Bitter End'.

Following the single's success, Wet Record's gave the song a UK release. The single was launched to a sell-out show at the renowned Monto Water Rats Theatre, King's Cross

In 2011 the band focused on recording their debut album and during the year new bassist Joey Kenny joined original members John Murray (Vocals/Keys), Mark Calvey (Guitar) and Ian McDonell (Drums).

The band are returning to London, and their show at the Wilmington will be their first UK show of 2012.

Support comes from the fantastic James Cook & The Melting Ice Caps.

Formerly the front man of cult Indie electro group Nemo.
James releases his debut solo album 'Arts and Sciences' in May.
Noel Fielding describes it as a stroke of genius,Julian Barratt says
it would "Melt your heart, subvert your soul and steal your
girlfriend".
Rolling Stone say ''Cinematic, exiting and unconventional. Like an
experimental DIvine Comedy''.

Can you afford to miss this?

The Melting Ice Caps were once described thusly - "...a melodramatic electro folk that is equal parts Soft Cell, Divine Comedy and Babybird. The Melting Ice Caps' tales of love, loss and betrayal burn with a rare imagination, panache and dry wit that makes melancholy desirable"
